Abstract

AI technologies have been increasingly integrated into various fields of healthcare, including dentistry, to enhance decision-making processes and improve patient outcomes. This paper explores the implementation of AI-enabled decision support tools in dental practice, focusing on their potential benefits, challenges, and future directions. We discuss how these tools can assist dental professionals in diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management, ultimately leading to more efficient and effective dental care. Through a comprehensive review of the current literature, we highlight key AI applications, such as image analysis, natural language processing, and predictive analytics, that have the potential to transform dental practice. We also address ethical considerations and limitations associated with AI adoption in dentistry, emphasizing the importance of maintaining human oversight and ensuring patient privacy. Finally, we propose future research directions and opportunities for integrating AI technologies into routine dental practice to enhance decision-making and improve patient care.
